I can’t understand the mustard algae chart

I have 13,500 gallon pool. My cya
Is 60. Can someone please
Tell me the mustard algae shock level. ? Can it fade the color of the liner ?
First you complete a slam, then raise FC to 35 for 24 hours (for mustard algae treatment with CYA of 60).

It is rare to have mustard algae. Most of the time it is just algae.

Have you completed a SLAM? Can you post pictures of this "mustard algae?"

IF - and that is a big IF - you actually have mustard algae, you complete the normal SLAM Process to completion, and then for 24 hours, and only 24 hours, you raise the FC level to 60% of your CYA level. For you, that would be 36 ppm FC. Then you maintain your FC level at an elevated level, for you at or above 9 ppm FC, for several weeks to insure the elimination of the mustard algae.

IF you follow the instructions, and your CYA level is correct, there will be no effect on your liner. Be sure to vigorously brush the pool after adding chlorine and to brush every nook and cranny of your pool you can find.

Can I go in it to brush or would that be bad for me . It’s easier to brush while being inside

At MA level of FC it would not be a good idea to enter the pool water with your person. Try to move the water as much as possible when adding chlorine.

Do you think it might be pollen? That’s what I had recently and I mistook it to be mustard algae and shocked it like a maniac for no reason.
It could be . I don’t know how to distinguish the difference. The water is crystal clear. When I pulled the cover off 3 or 4 days prior the floor was clean as a whistle. I have a bunch of trees im in a wooded area . The helicopters are filling my skimmer every 3hours !!!!!

When I touched the substance it was gritty rather than slimy. I read here on TFP that gritty usually means pollen. Also it lined only the top of the tile line along the pool perimeter. It was not on anything else. I slammed anyway, but probably didn’t need to go full blast. I panicked and went full force.
