IF - and that is a big IF - you actually have mustard algae, you complete the normal
SLAM Process to completion, and then for 24 hours, and only 24 hours, you raise the FC level to 60% of your CYA level. For you, that would be 36 ppm FC. Then you maintain your FC level at an elevated level, for you at or above 9 ppm FC, for several weeks to insure the elimination of the mustard algae.
IF you follow the instructions, and your CYA level is correct, there will be no effect on your liner. Be sure to vigorously brush the pool after adding chlorine and to brush every nook and cranny of your pool you can find.
