I am stumped - all tests indicate perfection but still have light green cloudy water.

I think I'll live with it for this week. All other tests seem ok. Draining is not easy. No backflush on the filter so need a sump. I may try a metal clumper and turn off the pump to see what settles.

If you are getting nothing but green and losing no chlorine overnight, I certainly would suspect copper reacting with the chlorine. You seem to realize that a chelating agent won't remove the copper and that will depend on another step. If you are committed to this course of action SC-1000 is a good product. Removing the chelated metal can be a real PITA. There are test kits for copper (suggest Taylor), but they are all expensive.

Water samples in your area mention copper but don't seem to suggest that there is an overabundance. Is there any chance that you have used a copper-based algaecide?

I ruled out metals and started a SLAM. It is clearing. Keeping the solar cover on at night was skewing my OCLT. I apparently had only free-floating algae, not much to speak of attaching to the sides yet. That algae is tricky stuff. Also, I may have added the algae back into the pool each time I put on the cover. The cover stays off for the season until I can thoroughly clean it!

Day 5: I lost 1 ppm of FC overnight. It's still cloudy, but it's clearing just a little more. I ordered a new filter cartridge, which should arrive by Saturday. I'll clean up the old one for an extra.

Day 6: I finally can see the bottom of the pool! Yay! I'm hoping one more day of brushing, vacuuming, and filtering will see if it can pass OCLT.

Happy day! I passed all three tests, and the water is crystal clear. The only downside is that now I can see all of the staining on my vinyl. I'm not going to worry about that, so I'll enjoy the pool.

Great. Show us a picture of the final product next to the starting photo. It helps us demonstrate that the process works for all types of pools.

Final photo! Now I have to get the alkalinity down. Working on an aerator. Have to drop the pH to 7.0 or 7.2 to get it down, then aerate to get pH back up. 2nd photo is before. SLAM took 7 days. Patience is a must!
