Hurricane going away

Not sure how else to describe it. New fins in the filter. When I back wash for about 30 sec, then put it back to filter, there is a nice whirlpool in the skimmer, but at about 5 minutes, the whirlpool goes away? The pressure is consistent and does not rise.

Mine does that if I do not put the skimmer basket right away. If the water is a little low the it will start making a sucking noise. See if you can play around with different levels of water and see what happens.
