How/When do You Pump Water from Auto Cover Given this Situation?

Brand new auto cover, and just had first rainfall. Water is pooling in different spots (photo attached). Two-part question:
  1. the pump my cover came with (and other popular pumps, e.g. Little Giant) seem to only have 20-25 ft cords. My far end of my pool is ~40 feet from the outlet. How do I deal with this? I believe extension cords are unsafe to use in water.
  2. is it a constant game of cat and mouse where I have to be outside throughout the day keeping up with the latest puddles as I push my pump around to different spots? I fear of the maintenance/work/time this will cause me any time the cover is in use.
Thanks all!

As long as the extension cord is plugged into a GFCI outlet that you TEST and confirm the GFCI is working it is safe to use. Elevate the extension cord plug so it does not it on the ground in any water.

You don't need to get every puddle off. The pump is there to keep water weight off the cover. If there are small puddles left after the pump runs let them evaporate when the sun comes out.
