How to use skimmer sock

I am attempting to use a skimmer sock for the first time. Could someone please guide me or possibly pay some content on how to use a skimmer sock with my set up? in the picture, you can see that this insert goes inside the basket. I don’t understand how you put the insert in and the sock on at the same time. in the picture, I have a sock around the basket but it prevents me from putting the insert in. I can’t seem to find anything on the Internet that shows my type of basket with a skimmer sock

It will not work with a floating weir skimmer.

The sock is supposed to be inside the skimmer basket with just a little hanging over the edge & the excess in the basket.
then when the pump is on & it is installed the sock will conform to the inside of the basket preventing particles from passing through & instead being caught in the sock. This may impair the floating weir you have. If you have a weir door you may be able to just leave the floating weir out when you want to use the skimmer sock.
