How to turn K-2006 to K-2006C?

Hello, I'm in Canada and purchased a Taylor K-2006 test kit and the K-1766. (Both arriving at the end of the month)

I know I should have purchased the K-2006C, but it was well over $300. My question is what "extras" do I need to buy to bring my K-2006 up to par with the K-2006C?
Also, I've been using the cheap store bought drop test and my chlorine shows darker than what the test goes to (3ppm). What can I do until my tests kits arrive to measure Chlorine as my tests don't go as high as the recommended levels (4-5ppm)? I don't want to have to go to the pool store every other day to get the levels tested.

As Richard said, it is the amount of reagents. The two tests you should get refills for are the FAS-DPD (R0870 and R0871) and the CYA (R0013).
Using a mail drop at the US border and driving over the border would save you a substantial amount of money. And if you manage it correctly, simply filling your gas tank in the US town can almost offset the cost of driving there.

To very roughly approximate the higher FC with your current 0-3 ppm test, keep the result in the canary yellow to slightly yellow-orange color range.

You can safely swim in a pool as long as the FC is above the minimum and at or below SLAM level based on your CYA. You must also be able to see the bottom of the pool in the deep end of the pool.
