My pump went out and finding a pool guy who has access to new pumps is nearly impossible because of the great Texas freeze. Is there a way to deal with the algae until I am able to get a pump installed? It is likely going to be a month if not more until I can get a new pump installed.

Add the usual amount of chlorine to stay at target level, and either brush or use a submersible pump to circulate the water. You may also want to consider getting a pool robot, such as a Pool Rover Jr to vacuum the floor of the pool and mix the water.

Amazon has a cheap sump pump that will pay for itself in no time. I bought mine in 2014 and it’s still going strong. Just attach a garden hose, put the pump in one side and the hose in the other to create circulation.

And a robot is a great investment anyway.
