How to get gravel out of pool?

Hello again! This is a bit of a silly question I realize, but I guess this pool building process humbles a person! So we are in the process of having a fiberglass pool installed right now. A bunch of gravel got pushed into the pool (in different areas). I tried scooping it out with a leaf scooping rake, but it just drags it around (Does this scratch the fiberglass? I’m scared to do that!) It’s way too cold to swim, otherwise we’d just jump in and fish it out. Also, there are tons of leaves in there, and the water is getting murky, so I can’t see all of the gravel. Should I not worry about it until next spring, when we can jump in to remove it? If they get all the plumbing/pool fixtures working, could I vacuum it out? Planning on getting a robot—would that get it out? What have others done in this situation, or am I the only one? I really appreciate any and all commiseration/help!

My robot will get small pebbles.
Vacuuming manually would be ideal. Be sure there’s a basket or a leaf filter in place so they don’t get lodged in your pump.
Maybe for now try using the brush & leaf net like a broom & dustpan (this will require that you have 2 poles). Also sweeping them up to the shallower end may help you have a little more success. Getting as much debris out as possible is imperative.
Sadly you’re not the first person to be left with a filled swamp with out functional equipment for an extended period of time. The pool builders generally don’t care about that since it’s not in their backyard. Are they responsible for getting the pool cleaned up anytime soon?

Do your best to not let it become a swamp as it’ll be a royal pain to clean up. Add chlorine and brush it around. A robot will easily clean up gravel. Mine picks up acorns as well.
