How to clean salt cell

I know not to acid wash but how to clean my cell.
End of year(5th year with cell) I was getting check cell light.
I cleaned the cell over the winter.
I had some light scaling on the plastic bars that are on top and bottom of cell plates. ( more on the inlet side of cell)
I scraped the scale off but do I need to get at the plates also?
There is not much space between the plastic grids to get at the plates and did not know if the grid having scale was the problem.
First time in 5 years I have had scaling.

Try using a hose, or soaking in plain water. The plates are coated with precious metals and you don't want to disturb that.

I had already tried the paint stick and it’s to big as is a wooden skewer
Zip tie not rigid enough
I have already reinstalled it it it just has pool water flowing through it now
Will see if light comes back on when I fire it in a week or so and if it does will try the drain cleaner trick
