How much sand?

Putting my 16 × 32 oval pool together and I am not sure how much sand to put down.
I have a floor pad to put on the sand.
I also have the HPI pool cove instead of the sand.
Any suggestions?

Welcome to TFP

Is this a normal above ground pool, not an intex type? Usually in the instructions it says how deep the sand needs to be.. Usually it is 2 inches..

It says about 4.5 tons or 3.2 cubic yards
