How much salt do I need?

I just filled my 15' x 48" Steel frame above ground pool. I filled it from empty with well water. So current salt level should be zero. The pool is 16,015 Litres (4230 USG). How many pounds of salt do I need? All the charts I find don't go that low of gallons.

Roughly 100 lbs based on pool math to put you at 3000ppm.

There's a link at the bottom of the page to "Old PoolMath Webpage" which you can use to calculate this. There is always some salt in the water so aim for the lower end of your SWG's range to start and adjust from there.

Thanks. I added my info in my signature.

I put about 115 lbs in yesterday. I’ll have to test it. Maybe I put a little too much.

You'll be fine. You should get a good test kit like the Taylor K-1766. It is very hard to accurately measure the low levels saltwater pools use. The Taylor kit is about the best for this. Test strips are the worst.
