Still working on getting my CYA down, still between 60 and 70. Trying to plan ahead for my vacation in July.
My understanding is I should bring it to SLAM levels before leaving, then put some pucks in my Chlorinator. I tend to run the pump 12 hours on, 12 off.
I'll be away for approx a week. I'll be using 1" tabs (that's what fits in my Frog Chlorinator). Not sure how high to set the Frog output gauge (and not sure how much it matters), but wondering what I should expect my CYA to increase by while using pucks for a week in the chlorinator. I don't want to end up back over 60 again and be back to needing to drain some off. I'd rather anticipate it and get my CYA down to 40 or 50 now so I have a buffer for the inevitable CYA increase, just not sure how much to expect it to rise.
