How many pumps?

I have a 8x8 spa with 12 jets (upper and lower plumbed separate), plus I have a seating area with 6 jets and 2 led bubblers on a sun deck.

Right now im thinking 2 pumps, one blower?

  • Pump one and blower for Spa and bubblers.
  • Pump two - pool cleaner and for seating area jets?

Now for the questions:
  1. Is my thinking wrong?
  2. my choice is Intelloflo VSF.. Thoughts?
  3. what is a better configuration?
  4. What am I missing?
  5. do I need a booster pump?

Please feel free to offer suggestions.

cs,

1. Not sure it is required, but sounds good to me..

2. IntelliFlo pumps are the 'Gold Standard' when it comes to pool pumps.. So good choice..

3. ???

4. Will you be manually moving valves, or turning on your pumps, or do you intend to have an automation system. If you plan on automation, then the brand of automaton you choose, will normally dictate the brand of pumps you should use.

5. If you plan to use a pressure side cleaner, you will either need a booster pump, or will need to buy a pressure side cleaner that does not need a booster pump.. Of course, you could step into this century and use a Robot Cleaner... See this thread.... Doheny's Discovery, S200, Active20, Triton owners club
