How low do you keep your TA

It seems like I have my water well balanced, except for my constant PH rise. I need to add about 24oz of 31% MA every 2-3 days to get my PH down from over 7.8 to 7.4. In doing this, I'm slowly dropping my TA which I'm hoping will eventually get low enough to keep my PH from rising so quickly. At very least, I would like to only need to add acid once a week or so.

I'm curious what TA level has helped others (especially in AZ or other places with similar fill water) keep their ph in check? I don't have a SWG or have any other aerator running. Also, what is the lowest I can safely go with TA? The lowest end of range is 70, but I have seen in other post that some have had success keeping it below that.

My current numbers:
FC: 8
CC: 0
PH: 8.0 (just added 24oz of MA after test, fill water is around 7.8-8.0)
TA: 90 (Started at 180 after drain & refill a few months ago)
CH: 270
CYA: 50
Temp: 82

Note: I know it's quicker to lower TA by dropping PH by dropping it to 7.0 once it reaches 7.2, however I haven't wanted to get my PH that low since it dropped my CSI too low.

Thanks guys for quick response. That's good to know that I can keep going until 50-60 range.

When you say you get yours steady at those levels, how often do you then need to then add acid because of water replacement?

When I drained and refilled last dec the TA was 110 (Chandler water)
I let the PH rise to 7.8-8.0 and pounded it down to 7.0
Took me a month to get the TA to 60 (now that it is at 60) I add about 8-16 oz per week of MA to keep it between 7.2-7.8
I prefer a slightly negative CSI since the CH is high here in the desert
I also have a spa overflow so it gets constant aeration while it running

Of you have an aerator I would heavily dose it with MA to 7.0 and run your pump with the aerator on and it will rise the Ph up quicker (when it get to 7.8 or 8.0) hammer it again
Each time you do this your TA will drop maybe 10 or so
If you can get it to 70
You will be in decent shape and the ph rise will slow

Hope that helps
