how long to run filter/pump

like the title says...how long does everyone run there filter/pump....i have mine on timer and it runs for 10 hours....is this too long or not long enough..just wondering if this is enough...my friend only runs his a couple of hours ..during the week and longer on weekends....otherwise he just keeps solar cover on...so just wondering what everyone does.........thanks
 
You only need to run it around 30 minutes to mix any chemicals. After that it is totally up to you. If you can see a difference that matters run it however you want.

Just remember water clarity/cloudiness is due to chlorine not the pump/filter.

Mine runs when the solar panels are producing heat which is 4-5 hours so I can't go less than that. At 90 watts I don't care much how long it runs but don't see any worthwhile benefits when going longer.
 
I run mine about 10 hours - mostly because I seem to need to run my SWG for 8. Just got a new electrode so will see if we can get that down, only need about 4 to filter things clean.
