How do we fix the water leveler?

Do you drink wine? I measure my pool level from the top of the pool deck to where I want the water line to be, then use the that length in the fill box level to be. I put a wine cork in the pool to block the water line and vacuum out the water in the water level housing. Adjust the pool level by just working the level in the housing.
Also, AZ means hard water. Loosen the thumbscrew and work the assembly around to knock off the hard water "chunks".

We were almost to the correct water level. It was taking forever to evaporate because of the cooler weather. I was so ready to have this behind us. Then it rained. A lot. The water is almost up to the deck. Now we wait for it to evaporate, again, so we can finally set the leveler. I decided that if I lived in Florida I would have an auto drain leveler, if there is one. No questions asked, it would be worth the price.

Well you can get a submersible pump from Harbor Freight for under $100. It is something every pool owner should have to big rains like you had. Just make sure to babysit it or set a timer to go check it so it does not get too low. After a while you will learn how fast it pumps the water out.

We‘ve been hooking up a hose to the spigot that is by the equipment and draining that way. Probably not as fast but it works. We ended up draining some today because we are expecting more rain this weekend. Rain is not something we really think about when planning things. We had a leak in our planter that is by the pool. We turned the drip off during the summer and didn’t want to deal with it in the heat. My husband started taking the dirt out yesterday and we have a huge pile on the deck (on a tarp). He realized too late that it wasn’t the best time to do this because of the rain. He’s also waterproofing the block and you can’t do that in the cold and wet. So, he had to cover the whole thing in another tarp and hope it doesn’t wash into the pool 🤞🏻🙏🏻 .
