How do I keep the liner in place when it isn't standard?

I just bought a house with a 20Kish gal, Gretian corner 16x32 ingeound fiberglass shell inground pool with nivyl liner pool which was maintained (using the term loosely) by a DIYer who did everything poorly. The liner is coming out of the wall in a couple places. It still has a few years left so I don't want to replace it yet, just get it back in. I used the hot water trick which was awesome until I realized it doesn't just go into the space where the coping (I think that's what it is) meets the shell. There is a weird railing like a centimeter under the trim/coping the liner goes over and inserts into (atraching a crude drawing!). But even with using a spatula to wedge it in, it pops back out.

I am attaching a pic and also a poor drawing trying to explain what I mean because I don't know what the word for that railing is. I tried the coil of coping insert stuff from Amazon but it doesn't work because like I said the liner doesn't insert perpendicular to the coping so there's nothing for this product to latch onto. I was thinking of getting some plastic shims and cut them to size but I don't want to put pressure on the railing if that is not appropriate.

Can anyone tell me what I need to do to hold the liner in place? Of what that weird rail is called so I can look up the products I need?

Thanks!

Hey Goonie and Welcome !!!!

Check the bottom of this link for a visual on how the liner really doesn't have anything to keep it in place once there is any play.

Once it's back in place, use liner lock (120 ft is under $30 on Amazon). It's a simple rubber wedge to keep the liner zippered to the liner track
