How bad does this look?

So, we ventured out into the frozen tundra today.... ok, we took a walk in the back yard, but close enough.....

While we were out there, I noticed that a couple of the uprights are bent inward at the top (see attached pics). I'm hoping this isn't fatal, but I'm kinda scared. If anyone can take a look at the pics and let me know what you think, and/or what I might do to help the situation, that would be great. We've only had the pool a year, and having it collapse after all the work we put into it would be pretty close to devastating!

Thanks!

This is not the first one we have seen this year :( We are all hoping that once the ice/snow melts things will move back to normal. There has been quite a few discussions about using or not using covers.........How is your cover held on? Can you let it loose to relieve the pressure on the pool side/uprights?

Not sure where you are but I'm in NY. I never leave my cover on during the snow months of say January & February for that very reason. And for the fall/spring months I use a micro-mesh cover so I don't have to worry about draining water off. The rain water just goes right into the pool. I do have to vacuum the bottom though in the spring as it gets dirty from rain water but the piece of mind is worth it. Hope your uprights bounce back.

What you are seeing is the weight of the snow & water that has collected on your cover, pulling in on the pool walls. You should release the ratchet cable around the cover to relieve the pressure on the walls.

Covered pools need to be maintained throughout the winter months, I regularly remove snow/water from my cover though-out the off season.

Thank you, thank you, thank you!

We went out today and released the tension on the cover, and I could almost feel the change. I walked around it, and all of the uprights are back to being... well..... upright. There's one at the back that was worse than the ones I had seen and took pictures of, but it looks like event that one is going to come back without a problem.

You guys are the best! Someday I hope to have some knowledge about something, so I can return the favor. Thanks again!

I am SO happy to hear that worked! SWEET!
