I just bought a new hot tub (inflatable to see how we like it before we splurge for a regular one) and am wondering on what to use in it. Is chlorine or bromine preferred? We had an agp pool before we moved and I always used bleach....will this work for a hot tub? Thanks!

Hey PM !!! There are 2 sticky threads atop the spa forum. Read em both and get a feel for which will work best for you. Many have mastered the bromine route, but for me it seemed like added steps and more to keep track of and yo-yo. I failed spectacularly at it. If I was doing it again I'd go chlorine and look at it as a mini pool. If you had any troubles, anyone here could advise you adding tablespoons and not gallons of the usual chemicals.

I personally like chlorine- I already use that for my pool so i have everything on hand & i find there to be less mystery than with bromine as i can test for everything in my tub.
I do the dichlor then bleach method or sometimes i use cya i have on hand - i also use a drop in swg (saltron mini) to maintain a minimum fc at all times.
I don’t use mps , just bleach/swg/dichlor for sanitizing & oxidizing, Muriatic acid, & boric acid.
PoolMath with a little help from google conversions make additions easy.
