Hot tub air button not working — is the problem the button itself or the tubing

One of my hot tub air buttons (for air blower) hasn’t worked for years. The air tube comes out of the ground where the equipment is and connects to another tube. If I disconnect the tubes and blow into the connecting tube, then it works— so I know it’s not an electrical issue. Bottom line is I know the problem is with the button mechanism itself or the tube (about 15 ft from hot tub to the connecting tube. Any advice on how to troubleshoot this? This is what I’ve done.

1. I figured the ends of the tube bot brittle and leaked, so I cut off about an inch at both ends of the tube (one end connects to the air button, the other end to the connector near the electricals). Didn’t work

2. I read the tube can kink so I pulled on the tube to remove any slack, still not working.

At this point, what else can I do? One option is to buy a $20 replacement air button from Amazon, but I obviously don’t want to do this if the problem is a bad tube. The tubing comes in 75 ft rolls, I don’t need that much.

I just thought of switching the tubes into opposite connectors so air button #1 goes into switch relay #2, and button #2 goes into switch relay #1. To my surprise, the button I thought was bad works on the opposite switch, and the button I thought was good doesn’t work on the other switch.

This tells me the problem isn’t the button mechanism or the attached tube, but rather the switch itself or the (brown) tube coming out of the switch is bad. HOWEVER, when I remove the clear tube and blow into the brown tube directly, then the blower turns on so I know the electricals are intact. I don’t understand how this can be. Why does it activate when I blow into it but not when an air button is attached?
