See photo attached. Hose came loose (blew off) from intake on heat pump. Held on with a clamp like the rest of my connections. It was tight when I put it on.

I know long term I should hard pipe it with PVC, and I am planning to, but I need advice on short term solutions to get the pool up and running.

Is that the right type of connector coming out of the heat pump?

Two clamps?

Is there a pipe dope / temp adhesive I can use to help secure it?

My wife happened to catch it while I was driving an hour away to a band rehearsal and I was able to walk her through shutting off the pump and in/out valves. But can’t really have this happen again. If I’m not there, definitely a burned out pump I will find.

Looking in my parts box it seems like this is the correct connector. Looks like the pressure itself pushed off the other one because the opening is too small. I have one of these correct ones laying around but it’s a little chewed up. May hit up the pool store and pick up a fresh one where they open at 9am.

Just went to my pool store (which is the worst) and they did not have the adapter I needed so I made use of the one I had in my spare parts box. It’s working fine so far. Will keep an eye on it of course and in the mean time I’ll start making my plan for hard piping everything!

For piece of mind, hard pipe the system. Above-ground, molded pool hoses are not made to be used with that kind of expensive equipment. It could blow off again, or split at a seam and cause the same, or worse, damage.
