Horsefly traps?

I did a search and could only find something from 2009. Normally the horseflies don't start to bother us until the pool is out of full sun. The last couple days however they have been around all day. Are there any traps that actually work for them? The last thread said to just keep killing them but it is hard to relax when your constantly on fly watch.

i’ve been dealing with biting flies for a month now. i thought most were the smaller deer flies, but i’m not really sure. over the last few days a few horse flies have shown up. man, are they aggressive .
so far i’ve tried the blue solo cups with Tanglefoot sticky applied to them. it’s suppose to be effective for deer flies, but i’ve not been successful.
for horse flies, youtube has several videos for horse fly traps. i’ve not tried them (yet)

I use the Black Flag disposable fly traps and they work great for me. In two weeks time there are hundreds of dead flys inside the bag. Just open the lid and add some water. These do smell really bad after a week or so so consider the placement and wind direction.

i use those too, but be aware they do nothing for horse flys, deer flys or and biting flys that looks for a blood meal
