Hooking up an Easy Touch to a Subpanel?

I have a 150A subpanel in my basement that I would like to use to feed an Easy Touch PL4. I'm new to all this (first pool) and I'm trying to save some money on this install. I'm familiar with electrical work.

I understand that the Easy Touch is basically a subpanel in and of itself. I'm wondering if its OK to wire it to my subpanel (which has a 100A breaker to the main panel). Also what amperage is recommended for this panel 60? 100?

I'm planning on having a SuperMax VS, some LEDs, and possibly add a heat pump/chiller at a later date.

CJ,

Welcome to TFP... A Great resource for all Automation thinking pool owners... :drown:

I don't believe any of the "lite" versions of the EasyTouch have load centers.. anything with letter "L" in the model number is a lite version as in PL4 or PSL4, etc...

What is the P/N of the ET you plan to buy? If you have a Spa, make sure you get the Pool AND Spa version, not the Pool OR Spa version...

You say your are going to get the SuperMax VS... but the ET will not control that pump, so I am confused. The ET was designed to control IntelliFlo pumps...

30 amps is plenty for the panel, pump and SWCG, plus minor things like pool lights, landscape light etc.. You'll need to step that up if you plan to add a heat pump..

Thanks for posting,

Jim R.
