Hole in 22" Hayward Pro Sand Filter

My 22" Hayward Pro Sand Filter has a few pinhole leaks along the seam. Its just finishing g up its 6th season.

I have a 15000 gallon pool on a 1hp Centry replacement motor on a hayward superpump.

I guess things aren't built to last like they used to be... But I digress...

I am contemplating going with a DE filter or just replacing the 22" vessel...

Any opinions? I know the 22" replacement Vessel will cost me about $400... and a hayward progrid DE filter with multivalve will run me about $850.

Also I will be correcting the half @$$ plumbing job my installer did. Can you mount a salt cell vertically?

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

THANK YOU!
RON

Contact Hayward. Others have had their filter housing replaced due to the leaks.

SWCG can be mounted vertically. Check the owners manual to be sure.
