High salt reading

Hello ... I am currently using a Hayward TurboCell 15 salt cell and AquaRite chlorine generator board. The board was replaced in September 2016. The salt cell is only about 1.5 years old. The problem I'm having is as follows: In December 2020, we turned off the salt cell due to cold weather and the board kept flashing that it couldn't generate chlorine due to being cold. At that time, the salt content was reading 4300. We recently turned the salt cell back on due to warmer weather, and the salt content reading is at 4747. The board shows "high salt" and is not generating as a result. I'm not really sure what my next steps should be, so any guidance would be appreciated.

What does your strips or drop test tell you the salinity is?

Make sure that the cell type is T-15 in the settings.

First off, thank you for bringing to my attention that I needed to set the board to a T-15. It was not set properly, but it is now. As for the diagnostic readings, here is what is currently shows:

Move the switch to off, turn the dial to 50% and then move the switch back to Auto.

When you hear the click, wait 10 seconds and then check the diagnostic readings.

Ok, everything looks good.

If the amps get to 8.0, the high salt warning will go off again.

The amps are currently at 7 amps.

As the water warms up, the amps will also go up unless you start working the salinity level down to about 3,200 ppm.

The percentage setting depends on how much chlorine you need per day and how long you run the pump.

You will have to monitor the chlorine and adjust the dial as needed to maintain the chlorine at about 10% of the CYA reading.
