High pH

I am having a difficult time getting the pH down to recommended / ideal levels. I test every day and then most days it’s well above 8.2. I had 2 or 3 cups of muriatic acid every few days but it doesn’t move the reading much. Also, the CL was a very pale yellow today. Normally it is very bright. Are thes readings anything to worry about?

How are you measuring a TA of 99?

Was that the block included in your TF-Pro? You're not filling it with enough water. It needs to be filled up to the thin upper line.

Use the FAS-DPD test for FC/CC, not the color comparison test.

You're flirting the the minimum FC for your CYA level. Bump up the FC into the middle of the target range (~7).

How are you measuring a TA of 99

I’m using the TF- Test Kit. Yesterday I used the 100% boost on the SWG for 8hrs. The measurements improved except for the pH which is still high.

It is not possible to measure a TA of 99 or 88 using the drop based test in the TF Test kit.

It is measured in 10's or 25's. See Total Alkalinity

Thanks, I see my recording mistakes. It should have been 90 and 80.
