Hadn't checked my calcium in a while, looks like it went from 300 to 540 in a couple years. Lots of rain this year, probably drained 24" after rains. Does rain increase ch?

My FC is also high - had a timer stop slip causing too much bleach to get added. Fortunately caught it within 2 days. Oh well, slam! It's about 12, should be 4.

TA is 90.
CYA 30 (I'm adding some stabilizer)

Would ch show high if FC is high (and water is 50°)?
Getting scale build up quicker than usual on my black bleach feed line, probably the ch level. Sure hate to drain half my water.

Rain does not increase CH. There is none in rain water.

CH has no effect on FC, or vice versa.

A CH of 540 is very manageable. Track your CSI. Keep it at zero or slightly negative.

I have been managing a CH of 1000 for the last couple years. No scaling on my tiles and SWG never really needs cleaning. Its all in how you manage your PH... 7.2 - 7.6 works for me. I'll probably dump enough water this year, to get me to 500 if I can, so I can start all over again.
