Hiding Skimmers for Grass Surround Pool

Hello everyone,

I am going for a very specific aesthetic with clean lines and grass coming right up to the coping. My pool is under contruction and the piping was just installed. We didn't realize the skimmers were going to stick out beyong the regular coping...this is really going to impact the whole 'clean lines' thing we have envisioned. Our PB said there's not really anything we can do. I sent him the link for the Hide Skimmer Lids... he'll probably give me a reason why he can't do this. There has to be a way! Anyone ever in a similar situation?
 
This pool has strait lines and grass up to the coping and “Hide A Lid” covers, due to the dimensions of the skimmer the coping does double in width from 18” to 36” to accommodate the skimmer.

The Hide lids were my first thought, the only concern is that I'm not sure they would work with live grass. Basically, you'd have to keep a small square of grass alive in the lid itself. With turf, it wouldn't be an issue, but you would see the metal from the lid and the frame.

Thank you for sharing this! Just so I'm clear...the way to get around the skimmer sticking out is to double the width of the coping? If so, that's a good idea. This is our plan so you can see what I mean.

My thought was to affix artificial turf to it. It might blend in.
 
Our skimmers are removed from the baffle side towards the pool so there’s no above ground cover. Makes them harder to remove but it looks better. Once you get used to it it’s not bad. Don’t know the cons of this type of setup though

I was on the run so grabbed a quick shot on my way out of the house. I’ll get you a better picture later. Full disclosure I never got advice from here about them. I also have a small pool don’t know if that makes a difference. They’re a but if a pain to get out but it’s worth it aesthetically for me. I’ve gotten better over time. Picture is upside down I’ll get a better one later
