Hi! I am new here

What a wealth of knowledge! I have had a pool for 18 years now, and am still always learning. We got the pool when we moved to NC, because it is SO HOT here, we wanted something in our yard for the kids to swim in. (I am NOT a fan of public pools, never mind carting 3 kids to and from the public pool). Now it's the grandchildren that use the pool the most. 8 years old and 3 years old, and new for this year, the 11 month old :)

The pool is inground, vinyl liner, 16'x32', and 5 feet at the deepest point. We wanted a play pool, if that makes sense. The largest space possible for ball playing, vs a diving pool. We have never regretted that decision! I hope the picture works, because I don't know what to call the corner shapes on the pool. Our bulldog, Audrey Hepbull, is in most of my pictures, because she is my babygirl.

Our biggest water chemistry challenge is NO alkalinity. It is a big problem for my husband's tropical fish breeding, also. We go through a lot of baking soda.

I came here looking for test kit information, my kit is very old. I love all the information! I am looking forward to reading more.

That is the best dog name ever!!

tftestkits.net is the place to go for a new kit. I have the TF100. And the speedstir, of course!

Hello and welcome to TFP! Great pic by the way. For test kits, we recommend either the TF-100 (link below) or Taylor K-2006C. I use the TF-100 everyday and it's fabulous. I also highly recommend the magnetic speedstir. Look around the forum all make sure to read/bookmark those vital links below in my signature. Enjoy the rest of your weekend.

Hi [emoji1309] Your pool sounds perfect! Your grandchildren must love coming to your house. Part of my long term pool building plan is to entice any future grandchildren over to visit! Your pool looks amazing fir 18 years old.

Thanks! The concrete is a cracked mess, but very low on our list of priorities. The liner is 10 years old now! We are very surprised it has lasted this long.

Thanks for the welcome! I will be getting the TF-10 on payday. Hope you enjoyed your weekend, too.

Warm welcome to you and your brood! That is a lovely space you have there and I LOVE Love love that bulldog statue! I'll be on the hunt for one of those.

Thank you! The bulldog statue came from Lowe's. It is HEAVY, but adorabull.
