Hope this is the right forum for this topic...

Bought a house with a pool and it has a Hayward goldline aqua plus control panel thing for the SWG and it has a timer for the pump. However, the timer is not turning the pump on and off. If I push the service button, the pump turns on and off but not with the timer.

Any suggestions on what could be going on and how I can troubleshoot/fix?

I've looked through the aqua plus manual but can't find any help there. Also, called hayward and they just emailed me the link to their support page that I used to get their number.

Welcome to TFP.

Show us pictures of your Aquaplus with the front panel open to see the wiring and your timer.

Also pictures of your equipment pad.

I don't see a timer.

I see one 120V device connected to the filter pump relay in your Aquaplus and the SWG cell connected to it.

There is a timers menu and settings for an "on" time and "off" time for the pump on the display shown in the picture.
From what I have read, when you set this, it should control the pump and turn it on and off based on the times that you set. Do you think that might be incorrect?

If your pump is the 120V device connected to the filter pump relay then the Aquaplus should be controlling it.

Pumps are usually connected with 240V.

Now I understand what you are trying to do.

Show us how you have the Timer setup.

I think @mas985 has an Aquaplus and may be helpful.

With the service button OFF, does the filter button turn on and off the pump? It should.

Have you set the Filter on/off time as shown above?

Here is a picture of how I set the timer. However, the pump does not respond.
When I push service and the pump turns off, I can then turn the pump on and off using the filter button.
If I don't push the service button but do push the filter button, the pump does not turn off and the display says "freeze warning botton inactive."

Sounds like your temperature sensor may not be working and freeze mode has been activated. If you toggle through the display using the arrow keys to the air temperature, what does it read? Also, check the freeze mode temperature setting in the configuration menu.

So the air sensor is either come unconnected from the main board or has failed. I can't see wiring in the picture posted but look at the connection to the air temp terminals. If it is connected, then the sensor may have failed and needs to be replaced.

However, you can disable freeze protection in the configuration menu which should allow you to run the pump.

Thank you so much for your help and troubleshooting!
