Help with Intex auto cleaner with Hayward pump

Hey all. I have an AG 24’ metal round pool with vinyl liner with Hayward sand filter and pump. I seen great reviews on the intex auto cleaner and it was a great price. But I need a bit of help on how you all plumbed them in. It seams the fittings won’t screw onto my inlet fitting. How did you all non-intex peeps do it? Thanks

If you changed the bulkhead going through the pool wall to a regular one, Get one of these, then place the end of your Intex cleaner hose in HOT water for a couple of minutes, and force it onto the barb.
I did it with mine, and it works like a charm.

Went to Menards today with the inlet piece that hold the little ball thing to make the jet. Well it must be it’s own size, as nothing fit? I hate to drain the pool down now that I just filled it to change the whole piece that goes through the pool.

The fitting I linked fits into a hayward return bulkhead... the same one that your eyeball fits into (if it is hayward)
I'll take a picture of it tomorrow for you.

ok... got some pictures...
this is what you get...

this is what it looks like in the ad that I linked...

this is what the end result is when you heat the hose up, and force it onto the barb. (notice the un-used Intex nut pushed up the hose).

It all connects to your pool return (where the water goes back into your pool from your pump).
This is a pressure side cleaner, and it does a good job when setup properly.

When you received it, did it come with the connection piece? The piece that is threaded on both sides?
The barb fitting will fit into ONE side of the threaded piece, but not the other.

This is a picture of it all in place in the return from the pump to the pool.
I just unscrew my eyeball from the fitting, screw in the threaded piece, and attach the hose.
