Help with CYA

My CYA has been creeping downward with rain over the past weeks and now my pH is too high. There are my results:

FC. 2.5
CC. 0
PH 8.0
CH 250
TA 90
CYA less than 20

I don’t want to correct one problem without considering the others. Will increasing CYA fix the pH problem? Can I get CYA at the pool store and what is it called?

Increasing CYA will not have an impact on lowering the pH. You need to use muriatic acid to lower the pH. Stabilizer is used to increase CYA and may be purchased at Walmart, pool store, or the pool section of big box hardware stores. Take care.

Texas Splash they sold me 20 Baume hydrochloride acid and instead of Cyanuric she sold me tricolor. Ugh. I hope this will work

Yes, get just cya. We get ours at Walmart.

I'd say add the CYA then check the pH, then add acid. CYA is acidic and it does lower your pH some. Check Pool Math, it'll tell you how much it will lower pH.

20 Baume hydrochloride acid is muriatic acid and will lower pH

tricolor has CYA in it, but it is very slow to dissolve. Just but granular CYA/ stabilizer.

Use liquid chlorine to chlorinate the pool.
