Help with chemistry

Hi everyone still new to this just started using a real chemistry set this year as opposed to strips.

My pool is really cloudy these are the numbers

FC is really high at 7 but I shocked it last night thinking it would help with the cloudiness.

PH 7.6

TA 140

CH 160

It's a 20,000 gallon inground gunnite

It could also use a little water so if dilution is necessary that's not a problem.

My local pool store is garbage for advice.

What type of test kit are you using? Good move dropping the guess strips. Your FC level is tied to your CYA ppm FC/CYA Levels so you need to be able to test CYA also. A proper test kit allows you to perform an Overnight Chlorine Loss Test and diagnose a building algae population that is often results in cloudy water.

Taylor 2006 CYA is 45

Round up your CYA to 50 as there is no 45 using a log scale and use the higher FC target levels for maintenance. Try the Overnight Chlorine Loss Test. You may find raising your FC toward the SLAM levels will clear up your water column.
