Let me start by saying I’m terrible at envisioning pieces into a finished product. I’m getting to the point where I need to pick coping, waterline tile and raised beam finishes. I am thinking of using a light colored travertine for the coping (photo below). I am also thinking of one of the three below glass tiles for the waterline. I am also going to have a 6 inch to 12 inch raised beam on the back side of the pool (photos below). I dont know if should go with glass tile or a stone veneer on the raised beam. I’m hoping for some opinions on my choices for waterline tile and thoughts on what to use for the raised beam. Thanks in advance!

LOVE your tile picks!!! You can't go wrong with any of the three!! We will get back to picking which one in a min.

I would do the whole waterline tile AND the raised wall in the same tile. That will tie every thing together and really showcase the wall.

Are you going to do the spa with the same tile? How about outside walls of the pool away from the pool?

What are you going to put on top of the wall?

Now to pick the tile-put them on the floor in a triangle. Drink a bottle adult drink. Put the empty bottle in the middle and spin it. Let the bottle pick which one to use! They are all so pretty!

One thing I want you to do is get some paint sample cards-bright white, off white, light gray, medium gray. Put the tiles on each one in your yard to see which one you like the best. The different colored mortar will change the tile colors a bit. You can't go wrong with this either so..........

THEN you get to pick what color grout to use. Ask them if you can use the grout sticks. White will make each tile stand out where a light gray will make them blend into each other more. AGAIN either will look good!

Hi Kimkatts, thank you for taking the time to give me your thoughts. The top of the wall with be finished with the same coping thats around the pool. I’m still not sure if I am going to use the same waterline tile around the outside of the hot tub or go with a tile that’s similar to the coping. I will probably price out both options.

I will decide on the what tile to use after a few martinis.

So here is what I would do. Lets see if you can see what I mean:
-pretty blue tiles where the water touches the spa aka in line with the waterline tile.
-Matching to coping tile or rock on the outside to the spa.

So you will draw a line up from the wall where it meets the spa. Pool side of that line gets blue tiles that match the waterline tile. Outside gets the other tile.
