Hayward 1.0 HP Superpump very old, model & ser # are not legible
I went to open my pool, tunred on the pump and the breaker tripped. Turned out I needed to replace the motor. I've done this before so bought the motor and seal/gasket kit.
I get it back together and it is leaking at housing gasket between pool pump housing and motor pump assembly. It's the large oval "ribbon" gasket that goes into a slot in the housing oriented horizontally where the motor assembly mates with the housing.
I have taken it apart a few times and re-assembled. Last time I cleaned and dried everything and was ready to watch for water. it started dripping underneath at this location (mating of pump housing and motor assembly when I filled the pump housing (basket area) with water. So no pressure in the system, fresh gasket, carefully tightened bolts between housing and motor assembly in sequence.
I took it apart and looked very carefully and didn’t see any cracks in the pump housing where the gasket seats and the motor pump assembly mates with it. Anything else to look for or is it safe to assume that my pump housing has a small crack somewhere?
Hoping for other ideas!!
