Seriously can't believe with all the trouble we've had with our new construction build that now our pool is running into problems. Any experts out there that know how this will affect the integrity of our pool when they resurface it? They realized it after the installers put it in but before the acid wash that was originally supossed to happen tomorrow. They talked about removing stair tiles and then starting over with correct color. I'm worried this will affect the depth and tiles around edge in addition to long term affects. Any insights would be great.

 I am so sorry this happened. A couple of summers ago it happened to someone and a week later it almost happened to someone else gurrrrrrrr

The best thing for you and your pool is a full chip out of the plaster. I am betting they offered to replaster with just chipping out around the lights, returns and such. Either way will work but in the long term...............if you stay in the house forever and down the long road want to replaster then.......that is when just the replaster will bite you in the butt.

Now if you can live with the color/plaster you can always ask for money to make up for the mistake. It is up to you.

thank you kimkats. It's so frustrating. We had our heart set on the aqua cool regular pebble as we had seen it on a model and it was actually quite smooth and the exact color we wanted. They ordered tropics blue mini pebble which is just too dark for the look we are looking to achieve. So should we encourage a full chipping out? This pool is costing us so much that to feel like it's already a used pool makes me sad. ugh.

Wow sorry to hear that. I would be disappointed but if it were me I would live with the color and not chip out or coat over it. Did you pay extra for what you have? If so get a credit and move on. In the end you will love your pool and the sparkling TFP results....

Best of luck!

lar if you do not want this color I would push for a full chip out as that will be the best thing in the long run. Just be ready for a big push back from the PB as this will be a lot of work on his part. It is YOUR pool and HIS mistake. HE should do what YOU want him to.

I am so sorry this happened to you
