Hi friends,

I just got the pool built and the chlorination cell was leaking from day one (it not even used for 1 minute). The pool company put in a warranty request and the Hayward people changed the cell with a different one. I had TCell940 and they replaced it with GLX-Cell-15-W. My understanding is that TCell940 is an extended life cell (that’s why I ordered it over the other version) and is more expensive.
I wanted with check with you if my understanding is correct and should I push the pool builder to replace the cell with 940 or should I keep 15W. I will appreciate anything to show the pool builder that they are different. Thanks.

The 15-W is the standard warranty replacement cell.

If the cell was 2 or 3 years old, then a 15-W would be appropriate.

If the cell was defective from the start and you notified them immediately, you should get a new 940 cell.
Thanks James. Cell was bad from day 1. My pool does not even have salt yet and the cell was never used. I will push for replacement with 940
