HELP!!! My pool is a milky bluish white

Ok, my water is clear though when the light is on at night it looks horrible but during day it appears OK.

OCLT showed less than 1ppm loss

This mornings reading were:

FC= 30
CC= 0 (not sure this is right but I did it 2x and got same result)
Ph = 7.6
CyA = 60
CH = 150
TA = 150

What are you thoughts on Flocculant or Clarifiers to clear it up the rest of the way?

Tomorrow I will be vaccuuming the pool and getting in that arctic water to get all the sticks and rocks that are at the bottom out. My dog is a digger yesterday she threw a boat load of rocks into the pool.

an eye dropper can really help to get the right levels in the test tube viales just be sure to rise it out when done like the rest of the stuff

I try not to put anything in my pool but bleach these days this year i had to add a few thing here and there

This is my 1st year attempting the BBB method, so I am trying to get it all together this year because I did not close it properly last year. This year I will do better. I am amazed at how fast my chlorine level came up and has maintained in the pool just using bleach. I grew up with a pool and my dad always bought Leslie 3" tablets because of the high chlorine content so thats what i always looked for but it was always a fight to keep measurable amounts of CL in my pools when i had my own. In the 6 days that I have only been adding bleach my pool has come farther towards being clear than the 14 days prior going back and forth to the pool store.

So I am sold on the BBB method. Plus Bleach is cheap - $2.49 for 121oz Jug of 8.25% Bleach - is alot better than 3 or 4 per lb of pool store tablets.

I will be getting some DE tonight and add it to see how the pool looks in the AM. The wife keeps busting my hump over the filter running nonstop.

The DE finished my process off beautifully, it's a great recommendation. Keep an eye on filter pressure while doing it. After 5 days of the DE, and having followed all the same advice you are following here, if it wasn't for a little pollen and a few small leaves I wouldn't be able to see my water.

I added 1 cup of DE to the skimmer last night following the instructions in POOL SCHOOL at about 930pm. I woke up to let dogs out about 430am and back washed my filter. While it was back washing I turned on the light in the pool. I AM NOW 100% SOLD ON THE BBB METHOD. My pool was crystal clear. I can't believe that little trick worked. Last thing I have to do is vacuum and get all the rocks out of my pool.

THANK YOU, THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks for the tip. Next paycheck I will look for it. Most of the store brands in my area are 8.25% @ $2.99 for 121oz. Amazing how people still call them a gallon of bleach, when i was a kid they were a gallon a full 128oz, but i guess like a pound of bacon that is now 10 or 12 oz, the reduce size charge the same.

I just want to say how much I appreciate all the help with my pool again. My family still can't believe that I am only using the BBB method, though I will admit that i have a little bit of the Bioguard Silk Sticks left so I put 2 -3 in my skimmer just to use them up.

Other than that I have only used the BBB, a liquid solar cover which i find amazing that it raises the temp in my pool, and I add the DE to my pool 1 time per week to help keep it clear.

Interesting on the liquid cover... I tried Cover Free this winter and was so underwhelmed by it's ability to reduce evap that I still have 2/3rds or more of the bottle left. Maybe I should give it another shot. Which product are you using?

I am using Cover Free also, I did add extra each time. I never really took notice about it protecting chemicals from evaporating but it sure does help the temperature in the pool. I like my pool between 72 -80, my wife likes it 80+ and my kids like it as long as it is not frozen and green. The Cover Free raised my pool by about 5 degrees in a 24 hour period, water still evaporated at roughly same rate about 1/8 to 1/4 per day but I know it help the temp.

BBB is essentially the saame method as the TFP method we teach.....techniques are the same.

Don't hi-jack this thread satay in the thread you have already started and you will get help. I will post over there now.
