Since you dragged (or is that drugged) me kicking and screaming over here. :-D

I think your threads are fine, unless you crossthreaded them. Hopefully that didn't happen. In reality you should never be able to screw threaded pipe fittings together far enough so that all the male threads are hidden.

Did you use lots of Teflon tape or paste on the threads? If you didn't, that's your problem.

If it's not leaking really bad, just wait till the new fitting gets there and swap them out.

Hey Bama Rambler, you can thank Txmat for that. I was just doing as i was told...

Which i wish i hadn't have done when i went to the mighty orange store and found out the dude that helped me wasn't helping me but just getting rid of me.

Yeah i used the teflon tape. Didn't help.

Pool is still clear as drinking water. Still scrubbing daily, sweeping daily and adding bleach daily...

I'll grab one of those male adapters at Lowes if i can tomorrow or Sat and just keep the one i ordered as an extra.

Who knows maybe someone in these threads can't get one and may need it, if i don't need it first...

MY PUMP IS UP AND RUNNING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Went by Lowes and the one in Rockwood, where i was working today, didn't have the part. But, as i'm driving on a backroad, i spotted a little mom and pop pool supply store. AND THEY HAD THE PART.

Took the metal one off and put the plastic one on. There is a leak, but it is very small. I guess i'll get some plumbers putty or something? Anyway...best news is my pump is flyingggggggggg that water around and around. It's working GREAT!!!!!

:super: Bleach Pants to the rescue! Sounds like maybe you have a new pool store to visit more often. I love my Mom&Pop LPS.

Actually its a family thing. I stop in a talk with mom, the three daughters, the grand daughters... the family dogs...

WOW that sucker is throwing that water all over that pool. HUGE difference with this new pump. Maybe that is part of the reason it was taking so long clearing my water. If i get on a float and keep that pump going i'll fly around and around in that big circle and have to hold on tight. I had a feeling that old pump wasn't working great.

My leak is better. It is now a drip........drip, instead of a stream.

Gonna add bleach shortly. It's clouded up some, but i figured it would. Can still see the bottom of the step though.

I agree techguy. They were all so very nice and kind and that piece was cheap. I'll be stopping in there from now on if i need something.

So all is well!!!!!!! Thank ya'll for the encouragement!!!!!!

I know, it's a long one. And my fear is that newbies may not read it because it is so long.

As far as being done here? I guess i'll have to have an intervention or something. LOL

Er everything I guess the next thing could be..... Forget it I'm not gonna say it especially since it's Friday the 13th...:evil:. Hopefully you enjoy a trouble free pool from here on out:D

Was thinking the same thing Articfox918 and i was standing out there looking at that pool thinking...what's next? Then, i could actually think of a few things that could happen, the liner, the strainer, the filter, so i just stopped thinking :|

At least maybe i'll get a breather. The number 13 has always been my lucky number, so, maybe this is a fresh start.

Still gonna keep everything crossed...just in case.

Nikki, I just read your entire thread and have learned so much! We don't have a pool yet, my husband is starting our DIY pool soon, but I've been reading and trying to educate myself. You are such an inspiration!! I hope you are enjoying your pool today!
