Oh LEEBO!!!!!!!! That is awesome!!!!!!!! How fun!!!!

Well after 12 hours, i see the bottom of my pool!!! There is white stuff on the bottom here and there. Mainly in the middle. I don't see anything but white stuff.

I'll vacuum tonight and just hope and pray i can get most of the dead stuff out before it gets so cloudy again that i can't see anything. Way different than when i flocked back in May. I had a moutain of leaves and green algea, it was like 3 feet tall.

Hard to see these with the glare but you can see straight to the bottom. But, i know that won't last long, however, it was nice to see the bottom!!!!

Yeah! I hope this does it for you. Your dedication and diligence have been amazing. My neighbor had a cloudy pool at start of the season and told me how awesome the floc was for them. Fingers crossed that you are swimming in sparkles soon!

Re: HELP i'm in a complete mess and don't know which way to

I see those piles of gunk so something's working......plus I see you got a new ladder. One with more than two steps. Looks like you're on the way to becoming a pool snob. :)

IT'S FRIDAYYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!!!

Re: HELP i'm in a complete mess and don't know which way to

Does look good. As I recall when I flocked it did the same thing. Vacuum to waste as you plan. I think it took me several days of vacuuming to get all the flock out. Hopefully you will do better. If nothing else, we definitely know that your conversion has been successful and your on the final laps. Looking forward to your next pictures.

Re: HELP i'm in a complete mess and don't know which way to

Ya'll and your teases LOL.

I'm home early today. I'm gonna start vacuuming in a little while, let it settle again, vacuum more. I'm really afraid to start because i am so afraid it will just cloud right back up in 2 minutes and i will lose my bottom again. :(

But i'm so anxious i can't stand it!!!! I'll go very very slow and just hope it works!!!!!!

Yes and it is apparent that the conversion absolutely worked!!!! And the algae killing. I don't see green anything. I see a couple of leaves poping their heads out of the middle of the white cloud, but nothing green and not a lot.

I am proud really that it is as clean as it is. Having scrubbed totally blind. Didn't do too bad!!!!

Re: HELP i'm in a complete mess and don't know which way to

Jule....I'm using BioGuard Remedy powerfloc. I used 16 oz in my 10700 gal pool. It said to use 8 oz per 10000 gal and double if it was real cloudy. I doubled. It comes in a 28 oz bottle. I think it was around 11 bucks at the pool store. I bought this and a pressure gauge and it was 18.75. It worked FAST and it worked GREAT. Now, jury is still out regarding how it vacuums and if it really really helps. I'll keep updating!!!!

A couple more pics. It's flocked even more since this morning. Gosh i wish i could just make that white stuff go POOF and have that clear water!!!!

LOL@new ladder. It's amazing that it really goes to the bottom, isn't it? The bottom of my pool is a design so those itty bitty white places is my bottom. The bigger white cloud streaks is the flock/and or dead algae.

Re: HELP i'm in a complete mess and don't know which way to

Well there is great news!!!! And sorta not so great news. What do you want first...

The great news is....FLOC WORKS!!!!!!!! I vacuumed to waste, very slowly, so slow that it did not make any cloud puffs at all. It sucked that stuff up like nobody's buisness and left a beautiful clear pool under the floc. It took two full hours to do it right. I could give lessons now in flocing LOL

The not so good news is...my freaking hose is not long enough. Now, i did notice this when i was vacuuming before but since i couldn't see anything, i didn't really think it mattered all that much. BTW, i did NOT buy that hose, the dude that took me to the cleaners last year did. So, after the pool was beautiful everywhere except one area about 5 feet x 2 feet on the far side. I couldn't reach it. So, i had no choice but to try and sweep it over so i could reach it. Well of course it just got all cloudy and mixed in the water.

See that big huge sundial in the middle of the pool? I got ALL of that and 90 % of the little beams that radiate out from the big round part. Just the part on the farrrrrrrrrr left of the sun dial i couldn't get.

So, right now i'm gonna let it settle again and pray a lot of that area moves closer to my hose. Yes i know i need a longer hose but it's 106 here today, i'm exhausted, out of money and i just can't. LOL. I'll keep updating.

The rest of the pool however, rocks!!!!!

Re: HELP i'm in a complete mess and don't know which way to

CONGRATULATIONS!! :-D You can give lessons in patience, flocking, and vacuuming. Even though you still have some flock to get out, I am going to toast you as I float in my pool this afternoon. Get some rest, keep an eye on your pressure, in the pool calculator assume you have CYA of 30, add enough bleach to bring it to normal which I believe will be 7, then at bedtime do a check for the overnight test, cut the pump off and let the flock settle out and then in the morning you can vacuum the rest out and go into standard maintenance. After your CYA has been in the pool for a week do a CYA test and you probably will want to add enough to bring it to 50. Then start posting to others threads and teaching what you know.

Re: HELP i'm in a complete mess and don't know which way to

LOL i didn't think about asking my neighbor if he had a long hose :|

Butttttt, i already swept as much as i could tell over to where my hose would reach. I had started adding water because 2 hours of vacuuming had my water level down past the return. But, logically, it was just stirring the stuff and it wasn't settleing. So, i've turned the water off, and am going to see if it will settle down there again, in reach of my hose and try and vacuum before dark. It is a race!!!!

Hopefully that will be achieved. THEN i'll add the water needed, put in the bleach that Txmat said and let it run over night. I'm afraid if i add the water now and run the pump before trying to vacuum again, all of that floc will go everywhere and right back where i can't reach it again. Makes me leary to leave my filter off this long and no bleach has been added for 24 hours. Eeeks.

Time's a tickin and i've got my paws crossed.

But, if my hose had been long enough that floc would have absolutely done perfectly. So Floc gets an A++++ from me!!!!!

Thank you!!!! I, like many others, i know i'm not alone, always seem to do things the hard way. But, it has made me a strong person. Just a really tired one. LOL

Re: HELP i'm in a complete mess and don't know which way to

I would check your FC level, you maybe shocked to see that some should still be in there. :)

Congrats on the clean pool....remember though

Pics or it didn't happen!
