Finally getting my pool up and running after needing some plumbing repairs. Finally got everything fixed last night, leak tested everything, tested the pump, etc.

I realized that when I was leak testing and testing the pump, I didn't have the baskets in the pool OR pump strainer and it sucked in some leaves. Now it was having trouble priming.

I did some fishing and pulled some leaves out of the section of pipe between the pump basket and the impeller. I couldn't get all of them though as I have HUGE hands and its a tiny space around the corner. The pump ended up priming but I know there is still stuff stuck in there. Any suggestions on how to get it out? Would it be as simple as taking the "volute" off with the 4 ish nuts and bolts that hold it all together? Is there a suggested way I could get it out without tearing things apart? If I do tear things apart will I need any replacement gaskets or anything?

A very small hook bent into a 6" or so piece of wire can usually remove the majority of stuff from a pump impeller. Just reach into the eye through the pot after removing the basket. After that the rest should just get through. That pump has a very large impeller that doesn't clog as easily as a smaller horsepower one might.
