Help. Hayward Salt Cell

Got a T-9 salt cell. All has been well. Noticed this AM, DE filter was clogging and pool was turning cloudy.

Backwashed, added new filter media. Flowing great.

Noticed my salt cell was saying low salt. Added a bag. Now it says 0000. Or 0100 or 0700 at times. No chorine.

Took off. Inspected. Looks fine. No clogs but noticed a couple loose plastic squares. No clue where they came from. I don’t see anything broken. Otherwise the cell was clean.

Put back on, still no salt registered.

So…assuming I have a busted cell and need to be replaced? Otherwise all looks fine.

Cell is only 3 years old.

Good chance you have a problem with your board…

  • Report all readings when you..
    • Go to the diagnostic screen, note the readings and then press the + button to reverse the polarity.
    • When the new numbers appear, see what they are.
    • Then, press + again and note the new readings.
  • What are the first seven characters of the cell and box serial numbers?
  • What is the actual salinity and how are you measuring it?

Show us all 3 readings ....

That's a T-15 equivalent with a 4 year warranty.

The "40" in 940 means 40,000 gallons and indicated on the label.

Do you have the receipt?

What date did you buy the cell?
