So our new hot tub (3 weeks old) had the water turn a light green tint with some foaming when the jets are running. Its a 500 gallon Jacuzzi 385 using dichlor/bleach method. Its city water not well water and the levels seem ok. Test results were:
PH - 7.4
FC - 2
CH - 220
CYA - 0 (only two weeks old)
TA - 90
Copper - 0
Iron - 0
TDS - 600
Phosphates - 500
Borates - 40ish (the color is hard to read) - from Boric acid
I get the same numbers using my testing kit (except for the copper, iron, tds and phosphates which I dont have a kit for). I shocked the tub yesterday with a non-oxidizing shock (potassium peroxymonosulfate) and ran the pumps for about an hour. I also cleaned the filters. The water is not slimy or cloudy - just a little green.
I normally add a tablespoon or so of dichlor after each use and used muriatic acid to get the ph stablized after about 4 days - now the ph does not move after using the tub.
The tub has an ozone system, UV system and the nature2 mineral in the filter.
