Hi we just had a 21 foot above ground pool installed. There is a slope, we have no idea what to do next. The installer has been less than helpful throughout process and we're at the point we just to rip it down and call it a day. We don't know if we need a french drain or not. Also if we do, I don't believe we can dig very deep as it's mostly rock. I've attached some pics for reference..if anyone has any thoughts or suggestions it would be greatly appreciated.

All depends on the drainage of your soil and if water puddles and creates a muddy mess around your pool after a heavy rain.
Mark the water level around the pool and keep an eye if you get erosion and any side of the pool sinking.

I’m in a very similar situation except the existing deck was over the part of the pool that was deeper. The pool I had before was there for 34 years lasted. I think the advice above is good. See how runoff flows.
When you put the dirt back if you grade it down on each side you might be able to guide the water around the pool keeping it from settling on the walls. Then use weed fabric and some rocks for drainage.

Curious if Pool City sub contractor did the install? I'm not far from you in Beaver county. I had same situation & put river rock around the pool. Helps immensely
Hi, it was Valley Pools in Robinson's installer..honestly it had been a terrible experience. We are going to start off with rock and wait and see at this point.

Yes I heard their sub contractors pretty much do the dig & leave regardless. I waited almost 7 months last year for install because I wanted to stay with a private company. Good luck! Pretty sure river rock will be your solution
I’m not particularly sure a French drain would be the problem solver. Surface run off would still sit against the pool.
Curious if there’s an update on this. Had a pool installed by Valley Pool’s installer this summer and we have a similar issue.
