Help find the right Union to connect to (Bestway/Intex) pump/filter

Fingers crossed it works. If it doesn't, I will have to convert back to the Bestway 1 1/2" flexible tubing after making the 25' run with 2" PVC.

I'm probably missing something, as I skimmed the thread (my apologies)... Is it not possible to cut out the return and replace it with a PVC "standard" sized one?

I changed all the pool connections to 1 1/2" PVC and added a Hayward skimmer.

I'm having a loss finding the right adapter to connect to the pump.

If the Waterway part from Amazon does not work, I will try to make the connection with a 2" PVC threaded adapter, using thread tape and 2 gaskets, then transition to a 2" union. It's more clunky than going directly into the female half of a union designed for the 40mm thread, but it should be functional.

Much closer in size than the other adapters, but still about 1/4" too large.
