Trying to turn my swamp back to my restful oasis. With all of the rain we have had this winter everything is out of wack. But my pool is a green murky swamp looking as I have never seen it. Ok I have a 14000 gal fiberglass pool. latest readings are TC-0; ph-above 8.5 a beautiful purple color; TA- 50, CYA- 45; CA- 130 I use your testing kit to test. I want to start a SLAM but I have never had my ph this high with my alkalinity at 50. I added about 27 oz of muriatic acid last night with no change in ph this am. I am heading out to get new R0014 as I am out. Dont know if my reading is because of old reagent or what. Should I just start SLAM and not worry about my ph until I get the water clearer? How do I juggle the high ph but a low TA? Should I add calcium now or wait until after SLAM? Thank you in advance for all your help.
One more thing- about 2 weeks ago I added a clarifier called Revive because I was told it really worked- did not work just made a bigger mess
