HELP! Blowing Power Center circuit boards like they're going out of style!!

I have a Jandy Power Center that keeps killing PCB's.

The original board started blowing the fuse every time, even after unplugging everything.

I replaced both the PCB and transformer and everything worked, for a couple of days. Then the new board started blowing fuses, even with everything unplugged. The last thing that happened prior to the fuse blowing was the solar being activated, which uses a JVA. I don't know if it happened at the same time.

So for my SECOND replacement, I plugged in everything but the solar JVA. After 5 days, everything was fine. I ordered a new PVA and replaced that too. It worked fine for two days and now the board is DEAD. Input voltage is fine. No lights, fuse is fine.

I've read that the JVAs are usually the culprit but both replacement boards worked for a few days. I have two other JVAs but hate to replace those too :(

Anyone have a similar experience? Anyone have advice?

I'm probably in over my head here and will likely call a professional but I'm afraid they may have similar problems which could cost $$$$. If you know a good pool company in San Diego please send contact info!

HELP!

What is a PVA? You mean JVA (Jandy Valve Actuator)?

Some members have had good experiences with BP Engineering, Inc. repairing their Jandy boards.

You have your old board? Send it to BP Engineering and see if they can tell you what failed. It may give you a clue as to what is blowing the boards.

Post pics of your Aqualink wiring. Maybe we will see something amiss.

Temp sensors and spa switch are passive and carries no voltage to blow anything.

If your lights with dimmers run through high voltage relays then the relays isolate the light and dimmer from the board.

It is likely your transformer, JVA, or high voltage relay blowing something.

Check all the wiring carefully for any signs of rats getting in the cabinet and chewing on wires. I had a critter get into my cabinet through a bottom knockout that was not sealed and built a nest.
