Salt lake city
Hi,
I'm from salt lake city Utah.
I purchased a 20" x 4" above ground pool for my wife with out really thinking about what I was up against.

So far I've learned how to level ground, how not to level ground. Back up a trailer with 5 tons of sand through a small opening in fence, twice.

Install a new breaker and receptacle for the pump.

How to repair one side of the pool and put back 2 legs after the sand washed away due to leaving the hose on to long while filling.

Now the water is in and the pump is on.

Here is my new problem. Ive spent to much time trying to understand pool chemistry, conflicting info from the net and incomplete info. Several days have gone by and I haven't added any chemicals. We recently had a wind storm that blew the cover of the pool and now its contaminated with small amounts of dirt and leaves. The water is getting cloudy. It smells funny.

I've tested the water and this is the result:
9,240 gal water

Free Chlorine 0\0
PH 7.8-8.4 ppm
TA 240 ppm
TH 200 ppm
CA 40 ppm

I really don't know what to do next. I just need help fixing the chemistry and the steps in order to do that.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

Welcome to TFP! Since this is an Intro forum area, I would suggest starting a new thread in the forum linked below. That way we can keep hello's and chemistry separate. We'll guide you. :goodjob:
