Marana, AZ
I live in sunny Marana, AZ.
I am currently in the process of building my own inground pool. And what a pool it is! This will be my fourth pool and second inground, but the first attempt at building the inground myself. I contracted the excavation, rebar, and shotcrete, but am doing everything else. I have already done all of the plumbing, electrical, gas, and masonry wall for the equipment enclosure. I am about to pour a slab for equipment. Hoping to swim it it before the end of the hot summer.
The pool itself is not very large, only 9700 gallons, but feature rich:
Geometric shape.
Pebble finish.
Travertine Coping and decking.
Large beach entry/lagoon.
Infloor cleaning system (I have an interesting story about that one)
Dedicated vacuum line for when I get sick of infloor like everyone else.
Large feature wall with three rainfalls.
One bench has two sets of spa therapy jets; 4 back jets, one calf jet, and one foot jet each. Total of 12 jets.
Two Colorvision bubblers.
Two color laminars.
Two fire bowls.
Two IntellifloXF pumps. (with two AVSC channel drains to handle all that sucking)
Venturi skimmer with a special feature on the venturi return port. (it goes directly to the bottom drain)
Two Clean and Clear RP filters.
Pentair ETI Hybrid heater / also plumbed for solar.
10 Intellivalves, because I am a control enthusiast.
Intellicenter to run it all.
I plumbed for efficiency; 3" suction, 2-1/2" everywhere else. All inground plumbing was heat formed, and all above ground is done with sweeps - no 90s allowed! Ever!!!

Now I am at the automation setup stage. My attempts to get help from Pentair and local techs have been less than satisfying. Learning that after two years they still have the Intellivalves in "stupid" mode is very disappointing. This is what brought me to TFP. I am hoping to learn and share, and possibly contribute.

Regards,

Steve
