Not much to tell when in the presence of greatness, kinda like the 10 Commandments movie, I am that I am.

Also in likeness to the situation between Brittan and the United States, two similar peoples separated by a common language, I am 7 years worth of familiar with pool caretaking and therefore handicapped learning how to take care of our 1 month up-and-running hot tub. I've spent some time reading the info pages, nice to know that the OTO reads a rise as it responds to CC, and that plumbing can get nasty from factory testing before startup and be resistant to chlorination.

I will add a little observation from my reading through page 10 of 150 on the hot tub forum/section. Some say dump water it's only a couple bucks --- my ground water is 50 degrees and takes quite some time to reach 100, and I've seen others "trying to help" some pretty clueless folks and potential disaster lurking when they try to take wing with the info (like one that turned on the pumps to push residual water out of a drained tub).

Anyway, I'm learning, have a bunch of questions building up, but like most folks am hoping to figure things out without looking more than maybe 50% as stupid as I really am :)

More? OK, if you insist. I see Ahh!-Some tooted, exalted, praised, and worshiped. I'm still trying to figure out if that's because the company has greased some skids or the product is better than the rest --- but I gave it the benefit of the doubt and ordered a 6 oz container BC my CL demand seems, well, demanding (me funny).

One thing that's unclear, do threads "rise to the top" by date of last post? Can they be user-configured to do so? Just wondering.

So hello TFP!

Hey M and Welcome !!!!

We get nothing. Nada, zip, zero. I used it once on a 7 year old tub. I was cemented as a lifelong user from what came out of my tub.

When we moved the house had a whirlpool tub and I quickly amazon'd (with my own money) another tub of ahhsome. It turns out the whirlpool was clean, because I saw, with my own eyes what would have come out if not.

Many, many folks have posted similar stories, sometimes even with pics. Also, alot of us get to know each other pretty well. I know it in my bones that @Mdragger88 wouldn't steer me wrong. Or any of the other regulars.

Anywho, glad to have ya here.

Welcome to tfp 😊
In the “new content ”area they are in order as the threads are posted but when they get new or alot of comments they get escorted back to the top. Not sure how it really works In each sub forum. @Leebo can explain a little better.

About the Ahhsome..
I, like @Newdude , am a firm believer because I have proof in my own tub.
I watched lots of videos & read many comparisons of Ahhsome with other spa flush products on this & other forums & blogs.
I already knew that purging a spa was a necessary part of routine maintenance & decided that since I was definitely going to buy something anyway I should look for the best one. All the reviews & videos coupled with It being the only spa flush that is epa approved for actually containing a decent concentration of quaternary ammonium that kills things pushed me over the edge for choosing it.
I also like the smaller container which makes it easier to store. Price wise per purge it is inline w/ other products.

Here’s some of the resources I could dig up- there are some older writeups on the poolspa forum but I couldn’t get it to load.

I have been testing their Aqua Clarity product for the last 6 months & will be doing a write up about it soon after I purge & see the results.
It is basically the same product just at a low concentration that you add weekly to continuously eliminate biofilms.

Interesting that "oh yuk" was my primary choice before I found this forum, but Ahh!-Some was what I ordered. I had read the 2nd reference. Originally I learned pool basics off poolforum.com and bought their DPD kit around 2007. Oddly enough, the R-0871 drops are still good (compared to a newly ordered bottle).

Thanks for the welcome, 10 pages down about 140 to go ... hoping to figure out and work through a few kinks.

When researching the spa purge stuff I went down the actual rabbit hole 🕳🤣
Not sure if I could recreate my path now- My conclusion was that Ahhsome was the superior product.
The fact that the company itself has been so responsive & helpful here, on other forums, & via email /phone with actual facts & scientific explanations for their products over time has only reaffirmed my thoughts. If another purge product comes along that out does Ahhsome I have no doubt the recommendations here would change, as I have seen that happen with other things in the past. That’s the beauty of a forum like this that doesn’t rely on advertising for funding that could bias the views.
